The Times Higher Education (THE) released THE University Rankings 2021. THE World University Rankings are the only global performance table that rates research-intensive universities on all of their core missions including teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international view to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparison. THE University Rankings 2021 uses 13 performance indicators, trusted by students, academia, university leaders, industry, and government.

The performance indicators of THE Asia University Rankings 2021 are grouped into five areas, namely: Teaching (the learning environment) Research (volume, income, and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students, and research); and Industry Income (knowledge transfer). In determining the ranking of the Asia University Rankings 2021, THE looks at data covering 551 universities from 30 regions.
