Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) is a private university established in 2000, located in Batam City, Riau Islands Province, by the borders of Singapore and Malaysia. With its location, Batam plays an important role in economics and industrial development in Indonesia. The population is about 1,15 million people.

Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) International Programs

Currently, UIB has 6 Faculties and 12 Study Programs that are accredited through the BAN-PT Indonesian National Accreditation body with 6 accredited A (the highest level), 4 accredited B, and 2 in accreditation process.

UIB offers international programs in the form of Joint Degree and Joint Degree for local and foreign students.

Joint Degree is a program offered by UIB for UIB active students in an undergraduate program or postgraduate program.  Joint Degree Undergraduate is a program to study for two years at UIB and two more years at UIB International University Partners. The participant will get two diplomas after they graduate, one from UIB and one from UIB International University Partners. Joint Degree Postgraduate is for Master's program students to study for one year at UIB and one more year at UIB International University Partners.

Double degree is offered for Undergraduate students only. Its difference from Joint Degree is that participants from Joint Degree will get two diplomas in the same study program/field, while Double Degree participants will get two diplomas in different study programs/fields. This program also requires students to spend two years at UIB and two more years at UIB International University Partners.

We recommend you ask the administrator of each program about all the details since not all important information is available online in English. Do call or text or email the admin about your questions or inquiries. The preferred tool is using WhatsApp, social media account, and email. Be prepared to have an admin who is not fluent in English, so speak slowly and clearly. Combine the communication with the written format to avoid misunderstanding as far as you can.

Bear in mind that all Indonesian higher education institutions are able to accept international students in programs outside the ones labeled as "international programs." That means that those regular programs are held in Indonesian language, and all international students should have sufficient language capability to enter the program.
