Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) is the only Christian university in Indonesia with Liberal Arts as its foundation. UPH is part of the far-reaching vision from the founders of Indonesia's business giant Lippo Group. UPH main campus location is in Lippo Village, Tangerang, Banten Province. It also has spread its wings to the second location in Surabaya, East Java Province. The third location is in Medan, North Sumatra Province, a different island. UPH has grown into a big education institution in Indonesia.

UPH provides international programs for local and foreign students. There are 2 different types of programs available, the first is called English-taught Course Program, and second is Dual Degree Program. English-taught Course Programs use English for all academic learning activities including textbooks, classroom instruction by lecturers, class activities and discussions, assignments, and exams.

For Education study programs, the degree obtained is divided into 2 different types. The Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.) in Primary Education is designed to prepare students to be teachers from pre-kindergarten to middle school. And The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Secondary English Education is designed to prepare students as English teachers for middle school and high school.

We recommend you ask the administrator of each program about all the details since not all important information is available online in English. Do call or text or email the admin about your questions or inquiries. The preferred tool is using WhatsApp, social media account, and email. Be prepared to have an admin who is not fluent in English, so speak slowly and clearly. Combine the communication with written format to avoid misunderstanding as far as you can.

Bear in mind that all Indonesian higher education institutions are able to accept international students in programs outside the ones labeled as "international programs." That means that those regular programs are held in Indonesian language, and all international students should have sufficient language capability to enter the program.
